Brunel has a “passion for people” all over the globe and is dedicated to not only placing people in careers but in truly changing lives. As part of that passion for people, the Brunel Guyana team is committed to improving the STEM career landscape for Guyanese nationals at all levels. Not just by connecting existing specialists to new projects in the country, but also by investing in the next generation of local students.

Earlier this year Brunel Guyana’s Country Manager Shinelle Padmore hosted a 5-week Career Coaching Session with University of Guyana students. During each of the sessions Shinelle offered valuable wisdom and insights into STEM fields that will help Guyanese talent to grow and remain in the country.

The sessions, which took place virtually, covered a variety of topics encompassing the entire process of searching for and securing a job in the industry. This includes assessing which STEM roles would be the best fit for your personality, values, and skills as well as how to write resumes. A UG student, Naomi Singh, recently wrote to thank Shinelle for her wisdom during the career coaching sessions saying, “I must say a huge thank you again, you made it easier for me to identify and understand where I need to apply my skills and talents." Naomi is graduating with an Associate degree this year from University of Guyana and is currently seeking data-focused entry level positions in the industry.
