The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for defined work or projects with moderate complexity. In this role you will follow an individual work plan and meet day-to-day short-term objectives and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning
- Manage assigned project package(s), ensuring timely delivery within budget and to specification.
- Act as the primary client interface for technical and package-related matters, maintaining effective communication and relationships.
- Lead and execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles while adhering to Veolia’s standards, practices, and procedures.
- Advise on technical aspects of project design for large-scale mechanical and water/waste treatment projects.
- Coordinate and prepare project technical documentation, including PPE documents, customer and partner submissions, and technical correspondence.
- Review and interpret P&ID diagrams to support project design, construction, and commissioning.
- Resolve technical issues in collaboration with Product and Engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct technical risk assessments and develop appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
- Support Veolia’s technical teams during construction, start-up, and commissioning phases.
- Participate in design reviews, procurement evaluations, and project handover processes.
- Capture and share lessons learned to improve future project performance.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to allocate and manage technical resources efficiently while meeting project objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) from an accredited university.
- Minimum 5 years of professional engineering experience, preferably with construction background in water treatment, waste management, or related industries.
- Mechanical engineering experience with the ability to read and interpret P&ID diagrams.
- Proven experience managing at least one project package, including coordination with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
- High energy level; self-starter with a strong sense of urgency in resolving issues and completing tasks.
- Proficiency in Google Suite and relevant engineering analysis tools.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to assess, prioritise, and orchestrate multiple tasks and resources.
- Strong leadership, presentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a matrix team environment.
