Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Field Service Engineer (FSE) with specialized expertise in LM2500 and LM6000 gas turbines. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and overhaul of mechanical systems onboard FPSOs, with a strong focus on aeroderivative gas turbines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform installation, commissioning, and maintenance of LM2500 and LM6000 gas turbines on FPSO platforms.
  • Conduct diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical systems including turbine packages, auxiliary systems, and rotating equipment.
  • Lead and support planned and unplanned shutdowns, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Interface with OEMs and client engineering teams to ensure compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, service reports, and maintenance logs.
  • Provide on-site training and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Ensure adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies and procedures during all field operations.
  • Support remote diagnostics and performance monitoring using digital tools and analytics platforms.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with LM2500 and LM6000 gas turbines.
  • Proven experience working on FPSO systems, including mechanical integration and operational support.
  • Strong understanding of aeroderivative turbine technology, control systems, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Familiarity with control systems (e.g., Mark VIe, Mark V).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and OEM manuals.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with condition monitoring systems and predictive maintenance tools.
  • Knowledge of vibration analysis, thermodynamic performance testing, and alignment techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client-facing roles.
  • Ability to work independently and in multicultural teams under high-pressure conditions.
