Introduction

At Brunel, we partner with leading energy organisations to connect people, projects, and industries with opportunity. We are now seeking a Power Connections Manager for a commercially focused role that will play a key part in managing established energy assets across Australia.

About this role

This position is responsible for overseeing the lifecycle of existing power connections and agreements. You will manage connection compliance, coordinate ongoing requirements, and provide commercial leadership on agreements that balance operational needs with regulatory obligations. Acting as the central link between internal teams, regulators, and external stakeholders, you will ensure commercial outcomes are achieved while safeguarding the reliability and efficiency of legacy assets.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing grid connection and user service agreements across established assets, ensuring alignment with business and regulatory requirements.
  • Leading commercial negotiations and acting as the main interface with network service providers, market operators, regulators, and customers.
  • Coordinating compliance requirements and using technical studies as input into commercial strategies.
  • Supporting pricing, concessions, portfolio assessments, and regulatory submissions.
  • Identifying and mitigating risks, managing disputes, and ensuring agreements remain fit-for-purpose throughout their lifecycle.

Is this you?

This role requires a commercially minded operator with an engineering foundation (not essential), able to use technical knowledge as context for commercial strategy and negotiations. You will have progressed into roles involving grid connections, contractual management, or network access, and be confident engaging with regulators, service providers, and senior stakeholders. Strong negotiation skills, commercial acumen, and the ability to translate technical input into business outcomes are essential. You will also be comfortable working independently in a standalone position that carries significant influence across critical energy assets.

What we offer

In return, you will join a high-impact role with visibility across some of Australia's most important energy infrastructure. A competitive package is on offer, including a STIP, with Brisbane preferred and Melbourne considered as a secondary option. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a commercially critical position that safeguards the value and reliability of legacy assets essential to Australia's energy security.
