Introduction

We are currently seeking a Mining Systems Application Support Analyst to work on a contract basis across an exciting autonomy project. The role will be FIFO on an 8/6 day/night roster from Perth.

About this role

As a Mining Systems Application Support Analyst, you will play a key role in keeping Autonomous Mining Systems technology updated, reliable, and running smoothly. You will be the first point of contact for application support, working on-site to maintain uptime and performance while collaborating with Product teams in Perth and Operations teams at site.

Key resonsibilities:

  • Ensure system uptime and stability on site, restoring services quickly and managing communications with affected users.

  • Act as the primary on-site contact for software users, technicians, and product development teams.

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain Fleet Management System applications and services, including during planned outages.

  • Configure and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging tools to ensure overall system health.

  • Proactively respond to system alerts, troubleshoot issues, and escalate to appropriate teams as needed.

  • Perform routine Linux system administration, ensuring compliance with internal security standards.

  • Provide L1 and L2 technical support to manage inquiries and application support issues.

  • Document and improve support processes, monitoring practices, and change management procedures.

  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Owners on system upgrades, bug fixes, and issue resolution.

Is this you?

  • Significant experience responding to production incidents, restoring services, and managing communications.

  • Hands-on Linux system administration (RedHat, Debian).

  • Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting.

  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Dynatrace preferred).

  • Strong knowledge of Docker containers, orchestration tools, and virtual machine management (VMware, Hyper-V).

  • Familiarity with SQL Server or other relational databases.

  • Experience supporting Fleet Management Systems or other production-critical technology (highly regarded).

  • Understanding of cyber security concepts for application and network security.

  • Skills in automated configuration and deployment tools (Ansible preferred).

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to explain technical issues to non-technical audiences.

  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or equivalent experience
