Have you ever wanted to combine your technical aptitude with strong earning potential in a FIFO role? We're seeking motivated technology professionals for FIFO opportunities within a mining environment. This role is ideal for graduates or early-career professionals with a background in Python and Linux who want to build a career in mining technology systems.
You will be the first point of contact for mining technology on an 8/6 site roster to provide back-to-back support to roll out, update, and maintain this cutting-edge mining technology product.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
Ensure system uptime and stability, manage incidents, and coordinate service restoration efficiently.
Act as the primary on-site contact for software users, technicians, and product teams.
Deploy, configure, and maintain the mining technology and related services.
Configure monitoring, alerts, and logging; proactively respond to issues and escalate when required.
Manage Linux systems and leverage Python scripting to automate and optimize tasks.
Provide L1 and L2 technical support for all application-related issues.
Document procedures and drive continuous improvements in support, monitoring, and change management.
Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Owners, and Operations Technology teams on upgrades, bug fixes, and system enhancements.
Required Skills and Experience:
Hands-on Linux system administration experience (RedHat, Debian).
Python or Bash scripting for automation and optimization.
Monitoring, alerting, and logging tools experience.
Experience with Docker/containers and virtual machines
L1/L2 application support experience in production systems.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
