Introduction

Construction Engineer role on a 14/14 BIBO roster from Brisbane, delivering safe and efficient civil construction projects across a wide operational area. You'll lead contractor performance, uphold quality standards, and ensure projects are executed to schedule while driving a strong safety culture and maintaining compliance with all civil and HSSE requirements.

About this role

  • Lead safe and efficient delivery of civil construction activities across multiple sites
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor civil works to meet schedule, budget, and quality expectations
  • Provide technical guidance on civil design, construction methods, and material selection
  • Oversee contractor performance and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and project standards
  • Support development of construction schedules and ensure smooth field execution
  • Conduct site inspections to verify progress, quality, and adherence to standards
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting, and progress tracking
  • Identify risks early and implement effective mitigation strategies
  • Contribute to tendering, contract preparation, and evaluation processes
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to align construction activities with operational needs
  • Drive continuous improvement in construction practices, efficiency, and cost control

Is this you?

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Proven experience delivering civil construction projects in field‑based environments
  • Strong understanding of construction standards, quality requirements, and industry best practices
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Demonstrated capability in contractor supervision and performance management
  • Solid knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and equipment
  • Strong commitment to safety and ability to lead safe work practices on site
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work autonomously across multiple sites and manage competing priorities
  • Competence in project planning, scheduling, and progress tracking
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with a proactive, solutions‑focused approach
  • Ability to identify risks and support mitigation planning
