Introduction
Construction Engineer role on a 14/14 BIBO roster from Brisbane, delivering safe and efficient civil construction projects across a wide operational area. You'll lead contractor performance, uphold quality standards, and ensure projects are executed to schedule while driving a strong safety culture and maintaining compliance with all civil and HSSE requirements.
About this role
- Lead safe and efficient delivery of civil construction activities across multiple sites
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor civil works to meet schedule, budget, and quality expectations
- Provide technical guidance on civil design, construction methods, and material selection
- Oversee contractor performance and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and project standards
- Support development of construction schedules and ensure smooth field execution
- Conduct site inspections to verify progress, quality, and adherence to standards
- Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting, and progress tracking
- Identify risks early and implement effective mitigation strategies
- Contribute to tendering, contract preparation, and evaluation processes
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to align construction activities with operational needs
- Drive continuous improvement in construction practices, efficiency, and cost control
Is this you?
- Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Proven experience delivering civil construction projects in field‑based environments
- Strong understanding of construction standards, quality requirements, and industry best practices
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Demonstrated capability in contractor supervision and performance management
- Solid knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and equipment
- Strong commitment to safety and ability to lead safe work practices on site
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work autonomously across multiple sites and manage competing priorities
- Competence in project planning, scheduling, and progress tracking
- Strong problem‑solving skills with a proactive, solutions‑focused approach
- Ability to identify risks and support mitigation planning
