Join a leading innovator in the resources sector as a Systems Engineer. In this role, you'll contribute to the design, integration, and testing of complex autonomy and energy management systems. The position offers an opportunity to apply strong systems engineering and control systems expertise while driving continuous improvement and mentoring others.

What are you going to do

As a Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and deploying advanced autonomous and energy-related systems. You will:

  • Elicit, analyse, and manage system requirements for autonomy and energy management applications.

  • Develop and maintain requirement artifacts and documentation to ensure consistency and traceability.

  • Lead design and verification of both hardware and software components for complex control systems.

  • Select, procure, and integrate technologies such as sensors, routers, and computing hardware.

  • Liaise with suppliers to evaluate options and recommend optimal technical solutions.

  • Deliver detailed system design interfaces, specifications, and procedures.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including domain experts, architects, and product squads.

  • Support verification and validation engineering through test planning and execution.

  • Lead verification campaigns and drive issue resolution with respect to safety and schedule priorities.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to a culture of continuous enhancement.

Essential skills and knowledge 

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering within autonomy, control, or energy systems.

  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, control theory, and functional safety.

  • Familiarity with embedded systems, real-time operating systems, and communication protocols (CAN bus, Ethernet).

  • Experience developing N2 charts, SysML models, and verification artefacts.

  • Hands-on experience leading test campaigns and managing hardware/software integration.

  • Adaptability, effective communication, and a collaborative, mentoring approach.
