Lead and manage multi-discipline QA/QC Team (QC Engineers and Inspectors) within the Department and ensure that the Inspection Test Plans and procedures are in place and adhered to throughout the project life cycle.
Guide departmental staff and Project Team on various activities related to latest version of ISO 9001 Standard, QMS system documentation and certification requirements.
Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g. IEC 62446, UL 3703, NFPA 70 etc.) in addition to contractual requirements.
Act as a Project/s Focal Point for Contractor / Corporate/ External QMS audits.
And coordinate with Company Project Teams and Contractors for planning / conducting audits and participate in assigned audits during contracts execution.
Promote a culture of continual improvement in quality practices and conduct quality training sessions for site personnel and subcontractors.
Support incident investigation and root cause analysis related to quality failures impacting safety or performance.
Prepare the Departmental & Project QMS (Quality Management System) documentation in accordance with Company requirements.

And further Manage and follow-up on implementation of QMS compliance requirements in Contracts.
Prepare Project Quality Plan (PQP), KPIs and ensure the alignment of Contractor’s PQP / KPIs with that of Company’s. Coordinate and ensure implementation of QMS compliance requirements during all phases of the projects by Project teams and Contractors and submit necessary reports /data on monthly / quarterly basis.
Participate in pre-qualification of Contractors/Sub-Contractors and Vendors, as required, monitor, and enforce compliance with ISO 9001/Company Quality standards.
Participate in technical bid evaluation of the Bidders to ensure that Company quality requirements are included, addressed, and understood.
Review the Scope of Services (SOS) and Scope of Work (SOW) and ensure that Company quality and technical requirements are incorporated which include Contractor/Supplier’s QA/QC and relevant engineering and construction deliverables and any other Technical / Company System documents.
Review and Approve Contractors’/Vendors’ QA/QC documentation/deliverables for engineering, procurement, and construction phases, including welding and testing procedures.
Review and respond to technical queries and technical deviations regarding welding and non-destructive testing.
Review Contractor/Supplier’s engineering and construction deliverables with specific emphasis to QA/QC and coordinate with relevant engineering discipline specialists on issues related to materials/corrosion/special processes etc; to enforce compliance to contract requirements.
Ensure Deviation and non-conformance control systems are implemented to meet the departmental compliance requirements.
Verify the resolution of deviations related to corrective and preventive actions and proper closure of NCRs and CARs.
Surveillance and oversee the quality of project Construction works by visiting all project sites, attending weekly/monthly meetings with contractor, monitor the site QC inspector’s functioning etc.
Essential skills and knowledge
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical, Instrumentation, Controls Engineering or related field) or higher educational qualification in engineering from internationally recognized Universities.
IRCA Certified QMS Lead Auditor Certification or similar.
ASNT Level-II Certifications in RT/MT/PT/UT is a plus.
Professional certification / affiliation with internationally recognized Quality organizations like CQI or ASQ or similar is desirable.
Minimum 15 years of relevant experience (Minimum of five (5) years lead experience) in Oil & Gas Industry as part of an internationally recognized EPIC contractor or end user/owner organization, covering large-scale solar projects or similar nature projects.
Extensive experience in large scale solar (Photovoltaic) construction projects and strong background in quality management systems.
Brownfield experience is a plus.
Hands on working experience in major EPIC projects with involvement in all phases of EP-I-C from working level to independently managing / Heading QA/QC function, with technical expertise in a core discipline.
Working knowledge in the manufacturing, inspection, and certification processes for equipment/ materials in projects and the associated Quality Assurance and Quality Control practices.
Working from corporate offices with functional responsibility for simultaneous coordination / working / managing multiple projects is desirable.
Working knowledge of using and interpreting Shell DEPs, International Codes / Standards (IEC, NEC, ASME, ASTM, NACE, AWS, API, BS, ISO and Local Regulations) related to the job and industry.
