Introduction

  • To assist and act as a back-up to the Dhareeba Reporting Coordinator in contract tax reporting

    (sales and purchases contracts) to the General Tax Authority (GTA) within the required timeline.

  • To assist the Senior Tax Accountant in any other tax tasks, as applicable.
  • Provide backup to the WBS master data maintenance and other tasks that may require such

    substitute within the General Accounting team.

  • Ensures compliance with IFRS standards.
  • To ensure compliance with DFA, Qatar Income Tax and regulatory requirements for all aspects related to taxes in the State of Qatar.

What are you going to do 

  • Knowledge and observance of Company HSE policy, rules and procedures.
  • Participation in HSE activities and HSE training.
  • Discuss and correspond with the General Tax Authority alongside the Senior Tax Accountant on

    tax matters that affect COMPANY.

  • Evaluate and suggest improvements on processes and controls to optimize compliance

    efficiency.

  • Perform the required tasks related to tax matters.
  • Liaise with the Contracts and Procurement (C&P) Team in gathering the required information in

    contracts (both sales and purchases) that will be reported to the GTA.

  • Run reports to extract corroborating data.
  • Prepare the reports needed to be submitted to the GTA.
  • Run the automated program that will assist in reporting to the GTA.
  • Coordinate with C&P Team relating to contract changes and reporting the said changes to the

    GTA.

  • Prepare and ensure the CMS document is always updated, alongside the Senior Tax Accountant

    for Contract Tax Reporting.

  • Assist the Senior Tax Accountant in analyzing transactions at invoice processing level as part of

    P2P process of the company, to assess the WHT implication and ensure that WHT is applied on

    transactions that are within the scope of WHT in accordance with the local law.

  • Manage the issuance of Tax certificates in relation to tax withheld, including preparing the

    certificates, maintaining records of certificates that had been issued and downloading the

    Dhareeba issued certificates.

  • Analyze transactions at invoice processing level to assess the Contract Retention implications

    and ensure that Contract Retention is applied on transactions that are within the scope of

    Contract Retention Rules as per the local laws.

  • Assist and take the necessary steps with Senior Tax Accountant to keep updated on VAT implementation and related topics.
  • Responsible for the performance of controls in relevant areas (contract tax reporting, etc.) to

    ensure the review of these controls is done in Compliance of the Internal Control Framework.

  • Confirm the performance of internal control in e-services as a back-up to the Senior Tax Accountant.
  • Assist the main focal point within the General Accounting team for liaising with internal and external auditors to ensure the efficient execution of their work in coordination with the Compliance team.
  • Responsible for preparing relevant Balance sheet Reconciliations.
  • Responsible for compliance with the relevant internal controls related to the above activities.
  • Any other tasks as requested by Senior Tax Accountant and Lead, General Accounting.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Excellent organizing abilities, great attention to detail, good with numbers and figures and an

    analytical acumen.

  • Flexible and proactive.
  • Team player and good interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical approach and proactive attitude, rigorous accuracy.
  • Good understanding of local laws and regulations (Qatar Income Tax Law in particular).
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles and methodologies.
  • Proficient in tools like SAP/ Excel/PowerPoint.
  • A minimum of 6-7 years’ relevant experience in a similar field, in Oil & Gas.
  • Professional Accounting Certificate (MBA, ACCA, CMA).
  • Graduation in Accounting / Finance.
  • Fluent in English.
