Introduction
On behalf of our client, a major O&G operator, we are recruiting for a Senior Exploration Geoscientist to join an active exploration team, supporting prospect generation, evaluation and well planning based in Perth on a 6 month contract.
What are you going to do
- Interpret seismic and geological data using workstation-based systems (Petrel Suite)
- Generate and mature exploration prospects from regional to prospect scale
- Integrate geological, geophysical and petrophysical data into drill-ready opportunities
- Support well planning activities, including well design inputs and documentation
- Conduct risk and resource assessments in line with exploration processes
- Contribute to play-based exploration studies and regional mapping
- Support multiple exploration projects concurrently, adjusting priorities as required
- Collaborate with global exploration and asset development teams
- Prepare technical documentation, maps and presentations for internal review
Essential skills and knowledgeÂ
- Tertiary qualification in Geology, Geophysics or a related discipline
- Senior-level experience in exploration geology or geophysics
- Strong proficiency with workstation interpretation systems, particularly Petrel Suite
- Demonstrated capability in regional and prospect-scale mapping, including complex data areas
- Proven ability to integrate seismic, geological and petrophysical data into drill-ready prospects
- Experience supporting or leading well planning activities
- Sound understanding of exploration risk and resource assessment
- Exposure to reservoir properties from seismic (RPFS, QI assessments) highly regarded
- Experience with North Carnarvon Basin plays desirable
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet competing deadlines
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
