Brunel is recruiting Project Engineers to work with our oil and gas client in Spring, TX.

The Project Engineer performs engineering evaluations and supports project execution to meet budget, schedule, safety, and quality requirements. The position works under immediate supervision and follows established guidelines, with limited independent judgment. The role also provides backup support to the Project Manager as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform engineering design evaluations to support project execution within budget and schedule constraints

  • Review industry policies, procedures, and reports to ensure accuracy, regulatory compliance, and data security

  • Provide technical support throughout the engineering and project lifecycle

  • Support Project Manager responsibilities as required

  • Participate in Invitation to Tender (ITT) development, bid evaluations, and contractor selection

  • Support identification and sourcing of long-lead equipment and coordinate FEED contractor support
  • Coordinate development of EMCAPS Gate 3 deliverables

  • Coordinate Functional Interaction Plans

  • Manage project issue resolution processes

  • Coordinate and endorse change requests and change authorizations

  • Execute assigned project scope in alignment with project objectives

  • Engage project teams and functional resources to ensure design and construction meet specifications and standards

  • Serve as the primary interface between the Project Team and contractors

  • Ensure smooth transitions between project stages

  • Lead the Project Management Team (PMT) in applying Project Management Systems

Essential skills and knowledge 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering

  • Minimum of 3+ years of engineering experience

  • Experience across engineering, construction, and project management or controls

  • Multi-discipline skill set with exposure to multiple project assignments

  • Strong knowledge of design standards, specifications, and work processes

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and influencing skills

  • Excellent organizational, coordination, planning, and interface skills

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and changing priorities

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
