Introduction

  • The Project Control Engineer supports the Senior Project Control Engineer in planning, monitoring, and controlling Project cost, schedule, and progress performance across Major Projects, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations, Project objectives, and Company standards.

What are you going to do

  • Management Systems & Compliance: Maintain awareness and adherence to COMPANY's integrated policies and procedures, including quality, environment, health and safety, responsible care, and energy management.
  • Ensure that all project and HSEQ requirements are prioritized and implemented daily.
  • Adherence & Safety: Stay informed of specific HSE and quality requirements for major projects, comply with all relevant regulations, and actively participate in safety activities such as walks, accident reporting, and investigations. Strictly follow the Project Information Manual (PIM) and its procedures.
  • Project Planning & Scheduling: Oversee contractor-developed project schedules across all phases, ensure alignment with EPCC contract requirements, and monitor progress against baseline schedules.
  • Utilize planning tools and optimize schedules for timely milestone delivery.
  • Progress Monitoring & Reporting: Track physical progress and schedule performance, prepare regular progress reports and executive summaries, validate contractor reports, and maintain accurate records for auditing purposes.
  • Cost & Resource Planning: Ensure proper resource and cost planning by supporting contractor manpower plans and productivity tracking, assisting with budget forecasts, and providing input for cost control.
  • Contract & Change Management: Contribute planning input for contract strategies and support claims and change documentation.
  • Ensure all planning deliverables meet contract requirements and are traceable.
  • Cost Monitoring & Performance Analysis: Monitor actual costs against budgets, analyze variances, implement earned value metrics, and prepare monthly cost reports and forecasts.
  • Change Management & Claims Support: Evaluate cost impacts of project changes, maintain a change log, and ensure budgets reflect approved changes.
  • Risk & Contingency Management: Conduct schedule and cost risk assessments, support quantitative analysis, and recommend mitigation and contingency strategies.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Prepare inputs for monthly reports and presentations, maintain centralized records, and document lessons learned.
  • Coordination & Strategic Support: Interface with various project teams to align cost control, support senior engineers, participate in coordination meetings, and drive continuous improvement in planning and reporting.
  • Project Information Manual (PIM): Ensure project closeout and change management aligns with PIM procedures, submit lessons learned, and track risks as required.
  • Overall, these responsibilities ensure comprehensive project management, efficient cost and schedule control, strict compliance with safety and quality standards, and continuous improvement in project delivery.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's Degree (12+4 years)
  • Minimum 8 years' relevant work experience, with at least 3-5 years in in major projects
  • Professional Certification
