Process Engineer - Exciting Career Opportunities in Qatar’s Oil & Gas Industry;

We are looking for Process Engineer currently based in Malaysia for our upcoming recruitment campaign in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This is direct-hire, permanent position with our client, leading Oil & Gas company in Qatar. Candidates must be available in Malaysia for face-to-face interviews between October 15 to 17, 2025.

What are you going to do

Primary Purpose:

Monitor process performance and provide process stream engineering support for process related matters in order to enhance efficiency, productivity, and safety of gas plant including onshore and offshore platforms and facilities and pipelines. Troubleshooting process -operational problems and offering analytical support to operations and process teams;

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor process performance and provide process stream engineering support dealing with all process related matters and activities in Operations at Ras Laffan gas production plant and facilities;
  • Provide technical expertise and support to the Production team, and advice on optimization of operations;
  • Implement special testing programs as necessary to anticipate evaluate and resolve problems, review daily/weekly/special reports and participate in the analysis of respective causes of problems, recommending changes or alterations to operating parameters in order to avoid recurrence of problems;
  • Perform feasibility studies and prepare/review plant minor modification proposal including setting parameters for plant simulations, approving red-linked mark-ups of PFDs, PIDs, C&Es, logic diagrams, data sheets and other process deliverables for all plant modifications;
  • Monitor the quality and performance of assigned programs against the KPIs and ensure continuous improvement of services.
  • Review existing process control schemes and suggest improvements commensurate with latest developments in the field and ensure implementation of the same;
  • Perform troubleshooting and investigation of process and operational plant problems and recommend suitable remedies or raise ESRs to further study by TSU;
  • Perform calculations and necessary analytical reviews to improve the plant efficiency and operational flexibility;
  • Conduct OSR process related studies and reviews and raise ESR and PABC as and when required;
  • Carry out and monitor plant performance tests in conjunction with Laboratory and interpret results of laboratory tests, analyses, disseminating the findings though technical reports to Process Stream Engineer, management, and all concerned staff;
  • Participate in development of PFDs, P&IDs, data sheets, relief valve calculations, flare system design, line list, and project Basic Engineering Design Data (BEDD);
  • Monitor the quality and performance of assigned programs against the KPIs and ensure continuous improvement of services;
  • Participate in task risk assessment, PHA reviews;
  • Participate in OSR Review Meeting - presenting the outcome with final approvals and/or the status of Accept/Reject & Priority confirmations. If the OSR is rejected, state the reasons for the rejection and return with an OSRR;
  • Identify and recommend requirements for specialized contractor work and participate in the preparation of job specification/job scope of contracts assisting in bids evaluation as required;
  • Provide engineering and project management services for minor projects including the planning, execution and supervision of the works while also carrying out feasibility studies including investigation of IINs, participation in chemical consumption and submission to Finance on monthly basis and emissions monitoring and advising the operations team for optimization and reduction in environmental emissions.
  • Perform other similar or related duties as assigned by the Head of Process.

Essential skills and knowledge 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Educational Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree preferably in a relevant Engineering discipline;

    Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years relevant experience in a similar role within a large Oil and Gas processing organization / Refinery or large petrochemical plants;

    Skills and Competencies:

  • Solid knowledge in PFDs, P&IDs, data sheets, relief valve calculations, flare system design, line list, and project Basic Engineering Design Data (BEDD);
  • Strong problem-solving skills;
  • Effective interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills;
  • Sound technical and business knowledge;
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English;
  • Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage;
  • IT/PC literate.
