Introduction

On behalf of our client Woodside Energy, a leading global energy company, Brunel is sourcing an experienced Planning Electrical Engineer for a 12-month contract.

This position plays a key role in supporting maintenance, project, and turnaround activities across Woodside's operated onshore facilities. Based in Perth with regular travel to site, the role offers a unique opportunity to enhance your technical and planning skills while contributing to the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of critical energy infrastructure.

You'll be part of a multi-discipline planning team responsible for developing and executing fit-for-purpose engineering solutions to address asset risk, improve reliability, and optimise performance across the asset lifecycle.

What are you going to do

  • Provide electrical engineering support for maintenance campaigns, MOCs, and technical workpacks
  • Assist with capital project scopes, remediation, and turnaround readiness activities
  • Optimise maintenance strategies and support root-cause investigations of significant electrical defects
  • Deliver assurance on electrical integrity and Safety & Environmental Critical Elements
  • Collaborate with site execution teams and provide backfill coverage when required
  • Identify improvement opportunities based on operational feedback and data analysis
  • Support Technical Authorities and participate in engineering governance and compliance reviews

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent discipline)
  • Demonstrated experience in production or maintenance engineering within oil & gas or heavy industry
  • Strong knowledge of electrical integrity, reliability, and maintenance planning processes
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems and Management of Change (MOC) procedures
  • Proven stakeholder management, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, operationally driven environment
