Introduction
Perform piping & valves engineering activities for Projects Engineering Support Division ensuring that all activities comply with standardised processes and are delivered to the highest standards.
What are you going to do
- Interface with Engineering & Projects (E&P) and Operations, HSE&Q, at Lead and Head Level.
- Interface with QatarEnergy, Ras Laffan Industrial City (RLIC), EPC Contractors and 3rd party Companies.
- Occasional contact with shareholders and government bodies
- Operates in technical environment with interface with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Required to contribute to other multi-disciplinary tasks whilst providing expertise in specialised area.
- As defined for this job level in the Delegation of Authority and/or approved budget.
- Ensure all activities are undertaken in compliance with Company Safety, Health and Environment and Quality policies, regulations and standards.
- Contribute to the development of Qatari employees. This accountability is a condition of employment for expatriate employees.
- Ensure all activities undertaken comply with anti - trust and competition laws and the Company firewall policies and procedures
- Ensure piping and valves design engineering activities for Projects Engineering Support Division are conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements, project specifications and approved variations if any.
- Resolve engineering issues that may arise and communicate with the Project Execution Team. Elevate issues to higher levels when necessary.
- Develop, update and amend various policies and procedures related to Projects Management Department as and when required in consultation with the Head of Projects Engineering Support and other team members.
- Evaluate complex tasks and provide appropriate recommendations to management on issues. Provide support to other disciplines and contribute to other multi-disciplinary tasks.
- Uphold all Project Philosophies and Procedures and ensure that these are applied to the specification, design and procurement of piping items.
- Support other engineers in complex analyses and assignments and provides expertise to ensure completion of activities within schedule.
Essential skills and knowledgeÂ
- Degree in engineering or science majoring in Mechanical Engineering in the area of specialization.
- 4 years' experience in area of specialization (piping engineering) within oil and gas industry of which 3 years are in project management team role.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Attain and maintain competence in accordance with the technical competence framework requirements.
- Conversant with QatarEnergy LNG company, National and internationally accepted specifications.
- Computer literate, with advanced knowledge of all relevant engineering software tools, systems and tools.
