Operation Readiness Planner

The Operational Readiness Planner is responsible for developing, coordinating, and executing comprehensive operational readiness plans to ensure smooth and safe transition from project development or construction phases to full operational status. This role works cross-functionally with project teams, engineering, commissioning, HSE, HR, supply chain, and operations to identify gaps, mitigate risks, and ensure all processes, people, systems, and facilities.
Develop and implement detailed Operational Readiness Plans, including scope, schedule, and resource requirements.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment of operational needs with project deliverables.
Lead or support the execution of readiness assessments, workshops, and risk reviews.
Identify and track operational gaps in training, documentation, systems, maintenance, spare parts, staffing, and procedures.
Work with departments to ensure the timely delivery of all operational documentation (e.g., SOPs, work instructions, manuals).
Coordinate and oversee training programs for operations and maintenance staff prior to handover.
Support development of asset lifecycle and maintenance strategies.
Ensure that all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements are embedded into readiness planning.
Track and report on readiness metrics and readiness status dashboards.
Assist with the handover process from project to operations, ensuring acceptance criteria are met.
Facilitate lessons learned and continuous improvement processes post-handover.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Operations, or related field.
10+ years of experience in operational readiness, commissioning, or operations planning within large capital projects or complex facilities.
Experience in industries such as energy, oil & gas, mining, manufacturing, defense, healthcare, or infrastructure is an asset.
Strong project planning and coordination skills.
Knowledge of asset management, maintenance planning, and operational systems.
Familiarity with regulatory and HSE requirements.
Proficient in project management tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
