What are you going to do

The Maintenance First Line Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations across Company facilities. This role manages the relationship and contract with Maintenance & Reliability (M&R) and construction service providers while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and supervise maintenance teams to achieve high performance and safe execution.
  • Ensure all employees and contractors meet SSHE (Safety, Security, Health & Environment) requirements.
  • Hold teams accountable for safety, scope compliance, cost control, work quality, and efficiency.

Maintenance Planning & Execution

  • Oversee all maintenance activities within assigned areas as directed by the Maintenance/Field Superintendent.
  • Manage maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution to ensure asset reliability and operational integrity.
  • Lead small projects or simple Turnarounds (T/A) when required.
  • Implement and reinforce Best Practices, M&R (Maintenance & Reliability) standards, and proper permitting processes.
  • Participate in Risk Based Work Selection (RBWS) to optimise resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with Company management systems, including:Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS)Controls Integrity Management System (CIMS)Global Product Quality/Integrity Management Systems (GPQMS/GPIMS)
  • Identify and remove barriers to improve maintenance cost, productivity, and schedule adherence.
  • Monitor daily coordination with service providers to ensure safe and high-quality work execution.

Budgeting & Contractor Management

  • Manage maintenance budgets and steward AFEs.
  • Review and verify service provider resource plans and cost estimates.
  • Drive cost awareness and strong project/turnaround cost control.
  • Support Operations Emergency Response activities where applicable.
  • May oversee inspection and pipeline integrity activities such as ILI (In-Line Inspection), ECDA (External Corrosion Direct Assessment), hydrostatic testing, and excavation/repair work.

Experience

  • Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in a chemical plant, refinery, petrochemical, or process manufacturing environment
  • Strong background in maintenance, reliability, or field operations
  • Adaptability & initiative

  • Risk management & courage of conviction

Technical Competencies

  • SSHE management (operations & maintenance)
  • Critical maintenance execution
  • Maintenance planning & scheduling

  • Maintenance management systems
  • Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or equivalent professional experience)
  • Broad understanding of engineering design standards, codes, specifications, and safety criteria
  • Familiarity with chemical plant operations is highly preferred
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and shifting priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Fluent in spoken and written English (technical and business communication)
