Introduction

We are seeking experienced Longhole Drillers to join underground mining operations across multiple Western Australian sites. This is a FIFO opportunity from Perth on a 14/14 roster, offering strong earning potential, modern equipment, and excellent camp facilities.

What are you going to do

As a Longhole Driller, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of underground drilling equipment to meet production targets while maintaining high safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate Sandvik DL421 and DL432i longhole drill rigs, including automation systems
  • Conduct pre-start checks and routine maintenance
  • Complete production drilling in line with mine plans and quality standards
  • Interpret drill plans, layouts, and stope instructions
  • Maintain accurate drilling records and reports
  • Work closely with supervisors and engineering teams
  • Ensure compliance with site safety procedures and regulations

You will be working across well-established and developing underground operations, featuring good ground conditions, modern equipment, and supportive team environments. FIFO travel, accommodation, and camp facilities are provided.

Essential skills and knowledge 

To be successful, you will demonstrate:

  • Proven underground longhole drilling experience (uphole focus preferred)
  • Experience operating Sandvik longhole drill rigs (highly regarded)
  • Strong understanding of longhole stoping methods and production drilling
  • Ability to read and interpret mine plans and drilling layouts
  • Knowledge of ground support and safe work practices
  • Valid Australian manual C Class driver's licence
  • High-risk licences (EWP, Forklift, Dogging - preferred)
  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol testing, and police clearance
  • Strong safety mindset and ability to work effectively within a team
