Introduction

Brunel are partnering with a leading energy business to recruit a Logistics Project Advisor for a 7-month maternity leave cover based in Chinchilla, QLD. This is a high-impact and hands-on logistics position supporting freight optimisation, heavy vehicle planning, and operational transport across QLD assets.

Please note: This is a residential role. Only applicants who are based in Chinchilla or willing to relocate for the contract duration will be considered. Accommodation assistance may be available for the right candidate.

What are you going to do 

As Logistics Project Advisor, you'll play a key role in supporting safe, cost-effective end-to-end transport operations across the organisation's QLD footprint. You'll work closely with field teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders to optimise heavy vehicle utilisation, streamline freight coordination, and contribute to key performance and cost metrics.

Duties include:

  • Aggregate road freight demand across Projects, Wells, and Operations
  • Optimise use of 30+ heavy vehicles, 60+ trailers, and 50+ operators across 100,000+ transport tasks annually
  • Support review and analysis of transport spend and operating budgets
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive CI initiatives
  • Provide transport-related advisory support during contract pre-award stages
  • Ensure compliance with HSSE requirements and relevant transport regulations
  • Collaborate with supply chain, contractors, and end users to enhance logistics performance
  • Track and report against key logistics KPIs

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Strong background in freight forwarding, road transport, and customs
  • Proven experience in logistics coordination and scheduling optimisation
  • Commercial and analytical mindset with a focus on utilisation and efficiency
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Committed to HSSE leadership and continuous improvement
  • Comfortable working with logistics systems (SAP Blueprint, mInventory, or similar)
