Exciting Expat Opportunity: Lead Inspector (Electrical) in Okpo, KoreaAre you an experienced Electrical Engineer or trade professional with a passion for safety and quality? We are seeking a Lead Inspector (Electrical) to support the implementation of a robust safety management plan across a major O&G project in Okpo, Korea. As the Lead Inspector, you will be a visible implementer of IIF (Incident & Injury Free) and contribute to an injury-free culture, demonstrating a personal commitment to HSE and IIF performance.

Your duties will include managing and directing on-site QC of FCS Electrical Buildings fabrication, interfacing with the DSME project team on day-to-day project quality issues, using your expertise in welding and fabrication inspection to monitor and resolve quality issues. You will also be responsible for monitoring and interfacing with DSME Quality to resolve quality issues, working with the site construction team to identify quality-related risks and implementing mitigations.Additionally, you will provide support with FCS fabrication documentation, including reviewing and commenting on drawings and specifications issued by the Detailed Engineering Contractor, reviewing and commenting on drawings, specifications, and manufacturing plans from the subcontractors, and supporting the defining, reviewing, and compilation of VDD4.
As the Lead Inspector, you will be responsible for creating a QA/QC site inspection program to be used during fabrication, including defining inspection points, documentation and traceability plans, and reporting formats. You will also review and pre-approve site inspection and data technician personnel and ensure receiving, off-loading, and warehousing of hardware undertaken according to DSME quality plans and procedures.

What you need to bring:

To qualify for this role, you should have a tertiary qualification in electrical engineering or an electrical trade background supplemented with extensive experience with High Voltage Electrical Equipment.

You should have 15 years of experience in construction, commissioning and testing for the resource sector, with preference for prior exposure to Asian shipyard practices. Additionally, you should have 5 years of experience in the construction of HV/LV buildings fabrication and integration for offshore structures to oil and gas standards.
