What are you going to do

We are seeking an experienced Inventory Controller to join a high-performing team based at a major industrial facility in Wacol. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced workshop environment and takes pride in keeping operations running smoothly through effective materials and inventory management.

Reporting to the Materials Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring all materials, parts, and consumables are available to support maintenance and production activities. You'll work closely with workshop teams, technicians, and key stakeholders to minimise downtime and keep operations moving efficiently.

  • Manage end-to-end inventory operations including goods in/out and receipting
  • Pick, pack and allocate parts to support production and maintenance schedules
  • Maintain accurate stock levels through cycle counts and stocktakes
  • Coordinate material shortages and manage subcontracted items
  • Oversee consumables, PPE, and chemical storage in line with safety standards
  • Support technicians with parts preparation and workshop requirements
  • Maintain calibration schedules for tools and equipment
  • Drive continuous improvement in inventory processes and stock accuracy
  • Liaise with internal teams and suppliers to meet operational targets

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Qualifications in Supply Chain, Logistics, or similar would be highly desirable
  • Manage end-to-end inventory operations including goods in/out and receipting
  • Pick, pack and allocate parts to support production and maintenance schedules
  • Maintain accurate stock levels through cycle counts and stocktakes
  • Coordinate material shortages and manage subcontracted items
  • Oversee consumables, PPE, and chemical storage in line with safety standards
  • Support technicians with parts preparation and workshop requirements
  • Maintain calibration schedules for tools and equipment
  • Drive continuous improvement in inventory processes and stock accuracy
  • Exposure to LEAN or Six Sigma principles desirable
  • Experience with mechanical components or heavy industry parts desirable
