Introduction

Brunel is currently searching for an HR Generalist for a direct hire role with our mining client located an hour East of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

What are you going to do 

Under the direction of the HR Manager, the HR Generalist supports all phases of the employee lifecycle at the mine site, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, labor relations, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:* Answer routine HR and payroll inquiries, employee relations issues, and policy interpretation.
* Support disciplinary actions, investigations, terminations, and unemployment claims in coordination with HR leadership.* Assist in recruiting and onboarding for both salaried and hourly positions, including coordinating job ads, interviews, background checks, and orientation.
* Manage employee data in HRIS, track performance evaluations, and support compensation and benefits processes (FMLA, disability, 401(k), open enrollment).* Interpret and apply provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement; maintain seniority lists and handle union-related matters as needed.
* Process HR-related invoices and assist with credit card reconciliations.* Administer training initiatives, community engagement, and company events.
* Ensure compliance with MSHA regulations, environmental policies, and workplace safety standards.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Qualifications:* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
* 5+ years' HR experience in employee relations, benefits, and recruitment.* Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation, HIPAA, and labor laws.
* HRIS experience required; ADP preferred.* Prior experience in union environments and the mining sector is a plus.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office; HR certification preferred.* Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
* Must be willing to work on-site, full-time.* Must be eligible to work in the U.S. for any employer without the need for sponsorship.
