Introduction

  • Responsible for overseeing all aspects of Contractor delivery of LNG Project HVAC & Buildings Pre-Commissioning & Commissioning, including HSE, documentation, planning, scheduling, subcontracting, systemization, completions database population, electrical activity execution, witnessing, completions records, audits and reporting.

What are you going to do

* Ensures coordination between relevant stakeholders, including other disciplines.* Provides leadership, technical oversight, troubleshooting expertise and clear guidance to the contractor.
* Facilitates interfaces and resolution of issues to meet project objectives and milestones.* This role requires strong stewardship to drive the HVAC & Buildings Scope by coordinating with multiple Stakeholders and Contractors.
* There are brownfield elements within each Onshore Contractors' scopes of work which require interfacing and alignment with OPCO to tie-in into existing systems.* Major challenges for this role include (1) conducts evaluations of design implementation and execution of Buildings and HVAC Systems of a major Project, including risk-based evaluation of complex technical issues and cybersecurity measures, which may have a significant impact on project execution and achievement of milestones, to ensure they are compliant and consistent with project requirements. (2) oversee a very large Buildings and HVAC scope and application of Smart Junction Box technology and requires strong communication and team player skills, interacting closely with other discipline SMEs to complete multi-discipline commissioning activities. (3) Contribute to other multi-disciplinary tasks whilst providing expertise in specialized area.
* Ensure Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning activities of Buildings and HVAC scope is conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements, project specifications and approved variations, as required.* Steward work execution, ensuring technical alignment and compliance with LNG operational policies, standards of business conduct and project management system.
* Interface with the respective teams to resolve Buildings and HVAC scope issues to ensure design implementation addresses each stakeholders' expectations and is consistent with LNG and Project objectives.* Communicate with and recommend solutions to Project Management Team when necessary.
* Manage Contractor's execution of Buildings and HVAC scope with subcontractor, vendor and other package vendors, in accordance with the roles and responsibilities given in the contract, to ensure safe and seamless integration of the systems.* Provide support for multi-discipline activities by extending Buildings and HVAC expertise to other disciplines as necessary, in support of completing activities within schedule and making appropriate recommendations to management on related issues.
* Direct the Contractor to develop plans and work schedules that ensure effective completion of PC&C activities and provide data (narrative, charts, graphs), change management recommendations and recovery plans to address any schedule delays for monthly progress and stewardship reporting.* Advise and provide guidance to the Contractor ensuring their capability in delivering all contract documents, progress and reporting measures and recommend additional technical support to address gaps.
* Plan and schedule the Buildings and HVAC milestones to enable efficient project execution.* Communicates HVAC performance through monthly engineering surveillance reports with the appropriate metrics and KPIs.
* Evaluate safety analysis studies and provide the required input to support project management in key decision making.* Participate in sharing lessons learned from previous projects, together with capturing current lessons learned to support future project and review teams.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's degree in applied sciences or engineering.
  • 10 years' experience in projects within HVAC & Buildings disciplines during detailed design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases, including 8 years design experience as a Lead HVAC Engineer and 2 years commissioning experience of HVAC systems, associated controls, chilled water and refrigeration equipment, oversight of service/vendor personnel.
  • HVAC experience of industrial building design including:
    • Electrical Substations and Battery Rooms,
    • Instrumentation & Control Rooms,
    • Office & Administration Buildings,
    • Warehouses, Utilities and Storage Buildings,
  • Refrigeration design experience an advantage.
  • Experience in large Oil & Gas Facilities, Lump Sum EPC
  • Experience in large HVAC design projects in Middle East environment an advantage
  • Experience working in a major LNG project environment within the Oil & Gas industry and having a broad knowledge of engineering execution including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, cyber security requirements, construction and operations.
  • Knowledge of Greenfield / Brownfield commissioning is required.
