Introduction

This is a strategic leadership opportunity for an accomplished operations professional with a strong background in Chlor Alkali (CA) and Ethylene Dichloride (EDC) manufacturing. The successful candidate will lead plant operations, drive operational excellence, and ensure world-class standards in safety, production, quality, reliability, and cost performance.

What are you going to do

  • Provide strategic leadership for all plant operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing performance.
  • Lead day-to-day operations across Production, Maintenance, Utilities, Engineering, Technical Services, and Operational Excellence functions.
  • Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with business objectives, production targets, and long-term growth plans.
  • Foster a strong culture of Health, Safety, Environment (HSE), quality, compliance, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Drive operational excellence initiatives to improve productivity, plant reliability, process efficiency, energy utilization, and cost optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, corporate standards, and international best practices.
  • Lead annual budgeting, production planning, operational forecasting, and performance management.
  • Collaborate closely with Commercial, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Engineering, and Corporate leadership to optimize overall business performance.
  • Lead capital improvement projects, plant expansion initiatives, and operational transformation programs where required.
  • Develop, coach, and mentor senior operational leaders while building a high-performance organizational culture.
  • Establish and monitor key operational KPIs, ensuring sustainable business performance and continuous improvement.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Master's degree (MBA or Engineering Management) is advantageous.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive experience within the chemical manufacturing industry.
  • Proven experience in senior operational leadership roles such as Operations Manager, Plant Manager, Senior Operations Manager, or General Manager.
  • Demonstrated success managing large-scale chemical manufacturing operations with full P&L and operational accountability.
  • Strong experience leading multidisciplinary teams within complex manufacturing environments.
  • Specialized Knowledge
  • Strong expertise in Chlor Alkali (CA) and Ethylene Dichloride (EDC) production processes is mandatory.
  • Candidates with significant experience in either a Chlor Alkali Plant or an EDC plant will also be considered.
