Introduction

Brunel is currently searching for a contractor for a Spanish Speaking Project Expeditor position, who is fluent in Spanish and has experience working in the large construction or mining industry.

What are you going to do

This position will be a remote, work from home opportunity within the United States. Must be willing work in the Chilean time zone for this role.

The Expeditor will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services necessary for the successful execution of mining projects. This role requires close collaboration with suppliers, and internal teams to track orders, expedite shipments, and resolve any issues that could delay project timelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Order Management:

  • Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between suppliers and production areas.
  • Monitor open purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and address any delays or issues with suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate records of orders, delivery schedules, and supplier performance.

Supplier Coordination:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and resolve supply chain issues.
  • Work with suppliers to improve lead times and optimize logistics processes.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups with suppliers to track the status of orders and shipments.

Logistics and Shipping:

  • Coordinate logistics and shipping activities, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety
  • Arrange transportation for materials and equipment, ensuring the most cost-effective and efficient methods.
  • Resolve any logistics issues that arise during transit, including customs clearance and documentation.

Communication and Reporting:

  • Communicate regularly with project managers and team members to provide updates on the status of orders and potential impacts on project timelines.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on order status, supplier performance, and inventory levels.
  • Facilitate meetings with internal and external stakeholders to discuss project progress and address any concerns.

Problem Solving:

  • Identify and resolve any issues that could impact project schedules, including delays, shortages, or quality concerns.
  • Implement corrective actions and process improvements to enhance supply chain efficiency and reliability.
  • Proactively address any potential risks to project timelines and propose mitigation strategies.

Essential skills and knowledge 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in expediting and supply chain management.
  • MUST have large construction and/or mining project experience, preferably from the owner's team.
  • MUST be willing to work Chilean hours.
  • MUST be fully fluent in Spanish.
  • Proven track record of managing supplier relationships and expediting orders in a project-based environment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • MUST be eligible to work in the U.S. for any employer without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Willingness to travel to supplier locations and project sites as needed.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
