Introduction

Brunel is seeking a highly analytical and strategic Corporate Development Advisor to join our client's Corporate Development Team on a contract basis. This team plays a critical role in advancing long-term business growth by evaluating and supporting new investment opportunities. The successful candidate will contribute to strategic initiatives, including acquisitions, organic growth projects, and innovation-driven development efforts.

What are you going to do

Develop and support financial models, valuation assessments, and business cases to inform executive-level decision-making.
Monitor industry news and trends to identify emerging risks and opportunities relevant to the business.
Prepare detailed presentations and reports for senior leadership and Board-level review, articulating the economic benefits, risks, and strategic alignment of proposed initiatives.
Partner with internal stakeholders across business units, asset management, and Finance to contribute to long-term asset and capital planning.
Evaluate and support inorganic growth opportunities aligned with the organization's broader strategic goals.
Apply structured problem-solving techniques to bring clarity to complex or ambiguous business challenges.
Analyze and synthesize both quantitative and qualitative data into actionable insights.
Effectively communicate findings through data visualizations, presentations, and concise summaries.
Facilitate internal workshops and gather feedback from leadership to inform strategic direction.

Essential skills and knowledge

University degree with 8+ years of relevant experience OR 12+ years of combined post-secondary education and professional experience.
3-5 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, equity research, or a strategy-related role.
Completion of an MBA or CFA designation is preferred.
Proven strength in financial analysis, business case development, and modeling.
Experience conducting structured qualitative analysis and navigating complex, ambiguous business problems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present recommendations to senior stakeholders.
High level of proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel, with strong attention to detail.
