Job Description:

Candidate should possess good exposure in handling upstream projects of different magnitudes independently- including oil & Gas well drilling, erection of surface facilities / production facilities, Pipelines, Finance / Project Management, etc with proven track record of leading and driving the entire upstream department operations, with the support of appropriate Team Members.

  • Ability to lead the Oil & Gas upstream department in Company to deliver successfully in Green field Exploration & Development Projects.
  • Effectively manage planning, budgeting/ forecasting and other investment requirement s, including Project Funding for the Company operated blocks.
  • Effectively coordinate with Company Employees and external consultants to ensure completion of all upstream jobs, in line with finalized budget, work program and project schedule.
  • Ensure operations are performed in line with the Company Standards, complying with applicable Laws and Regulations.
  • Formulation and implementation of Risk Management Policy for the operated blocks.
  • Interaction with external agencies such as DGH, MOP&NG, MOEF and Pollution Control Boards, State Govt. / Local Administration and Statutory Bodies, etc to enable grant of required permits, statutory licenses, clearances etc.
  • Effective coordination with various contractors / vendors /agencies / business partners for smooth block operations.
  • Active Co-ordination with Management for timely completion of activities and smooth block operations.
  • Highly effective communication, influencing and interpersonal skills; proven track record working collaboratively and being able to build consensus but also able to challenge effectively and constructively.
  • To ensure timely processing of payments to vendors/ contractors, related to the project to enable continuous workflow at site.
  • Nurture HSE culture among upstream staff and contractors / vendors to ensure total conformity to prescribed HSE Standards, in various site operations leading to accident free sites.
  • Provide periodical reports to Management giving right status on the various upstream projects.
  • Imparting requisite skills / expertise on different disciplines for all upstream staff thru proper training and on the job exposures.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Qualification:

  • Engineering Graduate in Mechanical/Petroleum Engg/Geology/Geophysics
  • G Degree in Management (General or Finance)/Petroleum Engg/G&G

Experience:

Min 25 to 30 Years combined experience in:

  • Managing Petroleum Exploration & Production assets /companies, with all-round exposure / knowledge on upstream related jobs like Geology, Geophysics, Drilling, Reservoir Engg, Production Processes, Surface Facilities, Pipelines and Project Management.
  • Exposure in Managing Funding, Finance & Accounts related to upstream projects, including knowledge on JV accounting.
  • Sound knowledge on Production Sharing Contracts, Revenue Sharing Contracts, Concession Agreements, etc prevailing in India and other countries, related to Petroleum Upstream operations.
