Brunel is recruiting Contracts Specialists to work in Sabine Pass, TX for intially 1 year contract with our major energy client.
The Contracts Specialist plays a vital role in developing, executing, and administering contracts that support the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of company's project scopes.
The position bridges technical, procurement (Supply Chain), maintenance and operational domains to ensure full lifecycle contract performance, contractor readiness, and compliance with Operations Integrity and governance standards.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement contract strategies for EPC, construction, start-up, commissioning, and operations and maintenance scopes.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contract terms to ensure alignment with project objectives, HSE standards, and company policies.
  • Tailor contract structures based on project risk, complexity, and interface requirements.
  • Coordinate full contractor onboarding, including safety compliance, mobilization, and system access.
  • Liaise between contractors, procurement, and internal stakeholders to ensure readiness and alignment.
  • Support on-site contractor setup, logistics, and documentation control.
  • Track contractor compliance, performance metrics, and deliverables using dashboards, CSIMS, and SharePoint.
  • Manage post-award changes, variation orders, and claims following company governance.
  • Maintain documentation for the Center of Excellence (COE), including manuals, MOC changes, and process guides.
  • Standardize templates and forms for contracts, compliance, and evaluations.
  • Manage SharePoint libraries and ensure controlled access to current documentation.
  • Support system tracking and workflow automation using Excel, MS Forms, and similar tools.
  • Support qualification and oversight of third-party vendors and fabrication shops.
  • Ensure vendors meet safety, technical, and commercial standards for LNG operations.
  • Work closely with Legal, HSE, Procurement, Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations teams to align contracts with business needs.
  • Assist the Contract Management Lead and administrative staff with onboarding, engagement, tracking, and audit readiness.
  • Provide guidance on best practices and serve as part of the Contractor Management Council (CMC).
  • The Contracts Specialist will join a team of five supporting procurement and execution planning.
  • The team manages contracts for startup, commissioning, and master service agreements, ensuring all suppliers and contractors are aligned and ready for operational phases.
  • Collaboration with planners and procurement staff is key to maintaining smooth project execution.
Work Conditions:
  • Location: 100% onsite at Sabine Pass, TX (no remote work).
  • Travel / Relocation: No per diem or relocation assistance. Candidates must be local or within commuting distance.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in contract management or procurement execution.
  • Experience in LNG, oil and gas, or industrial environments preferred.
  • Degree in Contracts, Supply Chain, or a related field is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of contract lifecycle, negotiation, and compliance.
  • Experience with supplier onboarding, contract tracking, and documentation control.
  • Proficiency with SharePoint, Excel, and standard office tools.
  • Must hold or be able to obtain a TWIC card prior to job offer.
  • No programming or licensing responsibilities; purely contract administration and procurement support.
