Introduction

Brunel is currently supporting Gold Fields on the Windfall Project one of Québec's most significant mining developments in recent years. Based in the Montreal project office and reporting to the Operational Readiness Managers, the Business Process Specialist - OR designs, documents, and optimizes end-to-end business processes across the future mine.

What are you going to do

  • Lead cross-functional mapping of current ("as-is") and future ("to-be") processes covering operations, maintenance, supply chain, planning, and support functions
  • Define standard meeting cadences, reporting structures, and performance review cycles aligned with the Integrated Operations framework
  • Collaborate with the OR Systems & Technology Lead to ensure that new systems and technologies (CMMS, planning, control, analytics, remote-ops platforms) are fully integrated into workflows and decision logic
  • Identify efficiency and decision-quality improvements enabled by technology, automation, or process redesign
  • Define process ownership, interfaces, and approval pathways (RASCI/Swimlane models)
  • Support development of procedures and management system documentation aligned with ISO standards, where applicable (e.g. ISO 9001, 14001, and 55000)
  • Facilitate workshops and change-management sessions to ensure buy-in from functional teams and alignment with Gold Fields corporate systems
  • Ensure all new processes are documented, version-controlled, and ready for training and deployment before start of operations

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • 10 + years in process improvement, business analysis, or operations excellence (mining or heavy industrial)
  • Strong understanding of technology-enabled operations (control rooms, remote operations, analytics, autonomous systems)
  • Expertise in process mapping tools (e.g. Visio, Miro, ARIS, Lucidchart, Signavio)
  • Expertise in data-driven improvement frameworks (Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, VSM)
  • Leadership qualities to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent facilitation, analytical, and communication skills
  • Fluent in English and French
