Introduction

Brunel International is currently seeking experienced Underground High Voltage Electricians to join our team on a FIFO basis at a well-established goldmine site in Papua New Guinea (PNG). This is an exciting opportunity for skilled electricians looking to advance their career while working in a dynamic and challenging mining environment.

What are you going to do

As a Underground High Voltage Electrician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, fault finding, and repair of underground electrical systems on heavy mining mobile equipment. Your expertise will ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment critical to underground mining activities. The role requires working FIFO (Fly-In Fly-Out) to a PNG goldmine, where safety, reliability, and teamwork are paramount. You will collaborate closely with other maintenance personnel and supervisors to maintain high standards of operational excellence.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a High Voltage Electrician, preferably within underground mining operations
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems on heavy mining equipment and vehicles
  • Relevant electrical trade qualification and current electrical licence
  • Experience working FIFO roster arrangements, ideally in remote mining locations
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and maintenance manuals
  • Commitment to workplace health and safety standards and practices
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and within a team
  • Current driver's licence
  • Willingness to relocate and work on a FIFO basis to PNG goldmine site
