What are you going to do

The Construction Senior Inspector is responsible for leading and coordinating all NDT inspection activities during the construction phase of FPSO projects. This role ensures the integrity, safety, and quality of materials, welds, and critical components through the application of advanced non-destructive testing techniques and compliance with international industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all NDT inspection activities, including:Ultrasonic Testing (UT)Radiographic Testing (RT)Magnetic Particle Testing (MT/MPT)Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT/DPT)Eddy Current Testing (ECT)
  • Develop and implement NDT inspection plans and schedules aligned with project milestones and quality requirements.
  • Ensure inspection activities comply with project specifications, client requirements, and applicable industry codes and standards such as ASME, API, ISO, and ASTM.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support NDT inspectors, ensuring competency and certification requirements are maintained.
  • Review inspection results, prepare reports, and maintain accurate records of inspections, defects, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
  • Identify non-conformities and collaborate with project stakeholders to establish corrective and preventive actions.
  • Work closely with engineering, construction, and quality teams to ensure inspection requirements are met throughout project execution.
  • Promote and enforce safe working practices in accordance with HSE regulations and company procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through the adoption of emerging NDT technologies and best practices.

Education

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working on FPSO oil and gas projects is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with advanced inspection technologies such as:Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT)Automated Ultrasonic Testing (AUT)Digital Radiography

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Non-Destructive Testing within the offshore, marine, oil and gas, or EPC industries.
  • Significant experience in FPSO construction, shipbuilding, or offshore fabrication projects.
  • Valid NDT certification(s), preferably including:ASNT Level III PCN Level III CSWIP AWS Welding Inspection Certifications Equivalent internationally recognised certifications
  • Strong knowledge of international codes and standards including ASME, API, ISO, and ASTM.
  • Experience managing NDT inspection teams and coordinating inspection activities on large-scale construction projects.
  • Proficiency in NDT equipment, inspection software, data analysis tools, and automated inspection systems.
