Introduction

Brunel has partnered with a leading resources company on a contract opportunity for an Integration Engineer. This role sits at the intersection of software, hardware and operational technology, ideal for a technical generalist who enjoys solving complex problems. You'll support integrations, deployments, troubleshooting and testing while working closely with development and validation teams.Occasional site travel is required to support deployments.

What are you going to do

Reporting to the Integration Technical Lead, you will support software and system integration activities across test and operational environments. You'll work closely with development and validation teams to prepare deployments, troubleshoot issues, analyse logs and help ensure systems are operating as expected.

Responsibilities

  • Execute integration activities across SIL/HIL, test and site environments.
  • Prepare builds, configurations, dependencies and test environments.
  • Troubleshoot integration issues, analyse logs and raise quality defects.
  • Develop and maintain smoke tests and integration test plans.
  • Document integration processes, configurations and test outcomes.
  • Communicate status, risks and blockers with Perth and site teams.
  • Support development and validation teams by reproducing issues and validating fixes.
  • Contribute to automation, test reusability and environment reliability.
  • Follow integration, escalation and handover processes.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Foundational understanding of software integration within SIL/HIL environments
  • Comfortable working in Linux environments with scripting ability for automation and log analysis, such as Bash, PowerShell or Python
  • Working knowledge of Git, issue trackers and CI/CD tooling
  • Exposure to hardware, firmware or PLCs highly regarded but not essential
  • Programming knowledge such as C++ or C# beneficial but not essential
  • Clear written and verbal communication across cross-functional teams
  • Evidence-based approach to triage, prioritisation and issue resolution
