Introduction

Our client is looking for a Field Service Supervisor to support on-site installation of power transformers (typically 230kV and above).

What are you going to do

  • Identify the HSE risks together with the installation team, take mitigation actions prior to installation work commence.Also enforce site safety requirements and conduct daily safety oversight.
  • Arrange daily installation work, ensure the progress aligns with the project schedule and make sure the projects are delivered on time
  • Supervise on-site installation of power transformers, including:
    • Mechanical assembly and accessories installation
    • Oil filling, vacuum processing, and related activities
  • Ensure installation work is strictly performed in line with drawings, installation process and customized requirements.
  • Resolve on-site installation issues in time.
  • Provide daily progress updates to project manager and support project manager to communicate with all stakeholders.
  • Release/Update working instructions and SOPs for the installation team
  • Skill training for the team including vacuum oil filling process, SAT, functional test.
  • Assist with inspection, punch list, and project handover

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Degree or diploma in Electrical, Mechanical/Engineering, or related field is preferred
  • 5-8+ years experience in 230kV and above transformer installation or similar field work
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Moving transformer to the installation position on the foundation
    • Assembly work (bushing assembly, high voltage leads connection, insulation wrapping)
    • Vacuum oil filling
    • Operating oil filtration machine and dry air generator
    • SAT(Site Acception Test), functional test
    • Operate all testing devices
    • Lifting work
    • Wire connection from accessories(like fans, gas relay, pressure relief device, thermometers) to the control cabinet/termination box.
    • OSHA 10/OSHA 30
  • Ability to read technical drawings and circuit diagram
  • Familiar with basic theory, transformer structure, components, accessories and tools/fixtures.
  • Basic knowlegde for DGA results.
  • Investigate and analyze quality issues.
  • Willingness to travel frequently
  • Familiar with local regulations and working procedure of the end users.

    • Team management skills
    • Strong safety/integrity awareness
