Introduction

As a Residential Insurance Estimator, you will be responsible for inspecting residential properties, assessing damage, and preparing accurate repair scopes and cost estimates for insurance claims across the North Brisbane region.

What are you going to do

As a Residential Insurance Estimator, you will be responsible for assessing and estimating residential insurance repair works across the North Brisbane region while delivering exceptional customer service throughout every stage of the repair journey.

  • Conduct on-site inspections of residential properties impacted by insured events such as storms, water damage, fire, and accidental damage.
  • Assess damage and prepare detailed repair scopes and cost estimates using industry estimating software.
  • Review insurance reports, photographs, plans, and claim documentation.
  • Liaise with homeowners, insurance partners, loss adjusters, assessors, and internal project teams.
  • Clearly explain repair processes and maintain regular communication with customers throughout the project.
  • Ensure estimates comply with insurer requirements, building codes, and company standards.
  • Identify variations and additional works where required.
  • Coordinate with trades and suppliers to obtain pricing and technical information.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation within company systems.
  • Support project delivery by assisting with technical advice and resolving estimating queries.

Essential skills and knowledge 

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience in residential insurance estimating, construction estimating, or residential building.
  • Strong knowledge of residential construction methods and repair techniques.
  • Experience preparing insurance repair estimates
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple jobs and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A current driver's licence.
  • Trade or building qualifications are highly regarded but not essential.
