What are you going to do

Job Description: As a Cost Controller, you will be responsible for supporting our current team during the rollout of a new charter. You will work closely with various departments within the client's business to ensure accurate analysis and reconciliation of financial data. This role requires a strong understanding of cost control principles, proficiency in Excel, and the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the current cost control team with analysis and reconciliation tasks related to the new charter.
  • Gather, analyze, and reconcile financial data from various departments, projects, and business units.
  • Ensure accurate allocation of costs to appropriate general ledger (GL) codes.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather the necessary data for analysis and reconciliation.
  • Use Excel and other tools to break down high-level data into meaningful reports.
  • Provide regular status updates and reports to the team and management.

Contract Details:

  • This is a fixed-term contract position until the end of 2024, with the possibility of extension based on project requirements and performance.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience in cost control or accounting, or
  • Without a bachelor's degree, a minimum of 5 years of experience in cost control or accounting.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with PowerBI and Task Orders is preferred.
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
