Introduction

As Commercial Superintendent, you will provide leadership and oversight of all West financial and commercial activities to support safe, efficient, and financially sustainable operations. Leading the West Commercial team, you will work closely with operational leaders, corporate finance, and senior management to ensure strong financial outcomes and continuous improvement.

What are you going to do

  • Lead and coordinate budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring effective cost control and capital management
  • Manage monthly financial reporting and close processes, delivering accurate and timely insights
  • Analyse financial performance, identify trends, and communicate outcomes to operational and senior stakeholders
  • Facilitate cost review meetings and partner with operations to drive improved financial performance
  • Provide commercial and financial insight to support capital investment and operational decisions
  • Conduct analysis of improvement and value creation opportunities across site operations
  • Perform contract performance analysis and support commercial negotiations
  • Coordinate Joint Venture financial reporting and support audit requirements
  • Ensure compliance with financial governance, regulatory, and reporting obligations
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Commercial team, fostering a high-performance culture
  • Coordinate and report on cost saving initiatives set by the business
  • Prepare and present financial reports, presentations, and technical analysis

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, or a related discipline
  • CA or CPA qualification
  • Significant experience in financial management, accounting, or commercial governance roles
  • Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Advanced financial analysis and cost management capability
  • Ability to translate financial insights into practical operational outcomes
  • Experience within mining
  • Proven experience in commercial contracts and models, writing formal correspondence, contract interpretation, dispute processes, stakeholder engagement, and negotiations
