As a Turnaround Planner, you will be responsible for all planning and scheduling deliverables for Turnaround (TA) scopes to ensure safe, efficient, and cost‑competitive execution in accordance with approved premises, work processes, and HSSE standards.
Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare, optimize, update, and maintain Turnaround plans and schedules to support efficient execution of TA scope, including resource optimization, material availability checks, and work pack completeness
- Break down approved TA scope into detailed, bite‑size activities for each area, including assignment of craft resources, activity durations, and development of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and work packages
- Assemble and integrate activities from multiple areas, blocks, and projects, complete schedule logic ties, resource loading, and ensure schedules meet required quality checks
- Coordinate closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Projects, Procurement, Cost Engineering, and contractors throughout all phases of the Turnaround
- Support planning and scheduling activities during pre‑TA, execution, and post‑TA phases, including schedule updates, progress tracking, and reporting to the TA Event Manager
- Drive schedule adherence and quality of execution during TA events, ensuring compliance with HSSE, quality, duration, and cost targets
- Identify and escalate high‑risk activities, congestion issues, and schedule impacts, including discovery and addendum scopes
- Participate in post‑Turnaround reviews, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives
Job Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- At least 3–5 years of experience in Turnaround, Maintenance, or Project planning OR5–10 years of field experience in refinery, petrochemical, or chemical plant environments
- Proven experience in Turnaround / Pitstop planning within refinery or petrochemical facilities
- Strong working knowledge of planning and scheduling tools (e.g. Primavera P6)
- Experience in developing work packs, BOMs, resource‑loaded schedules, and logic‑driven plans
- Good understanding of HSSE requirements, SIMOPS constraints, and plant work processes
- Strong coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Exposure to large‑scale Turnaround events is an advantage
- Experience working with multiple disciplines such as mechanical, piping, static equipment, scaffolding, insulation, painting, or E&I is preferred
- Candidates with prior Pulau Bukom / Jurong Island experience will have an advantage
