What are you going to do

  • Provide expert contractual advice to business stakeholders on standard and complex derivatives agreements (e.g., ISDA, CSA/VMCSA, brokerage agreements, framework agreements, delegated reporting agreements, service level agreements).

  • Draft, review, and negotiate OTC derivatives contracts to ensure commercial accuracy, risk mitigation, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Advise traders and commercial teams on contractual and commercial risks and ensure agreements are fit for purpose.

  • Prepare and negotiate trade confirmations and ad-hoc agreements to support new products, structured transactions, and evolving business needs.

  • Support resolution of contractual disputes with counterparties, coordinating with internal legal, credit, risk, and commercial stakeholders.

  • Monitor regulatory changes impacting derivatives trading and ensure internal compliance.

  • Maintain accurate records of active negotiations and provide visibility to relevant stakeholders.

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of derivatives business controls and applicable audit frameworks.

  • Provide both pre-deal and post-deal commercial support to maximize value for the business.

  • Support adherence to derivatives trade confirmation processes and relevant regulations.

  • Mentor or train junior Contracts Advisors as required.

  • Collaborate with team members and provide coverage support where needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Law or equivalent legal/contracting experience.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience drafting, analyzing, and negotiating OTC derivatives contracts.

  • Strong expertise with derivatives trading agreements, including:

    • ISDA Master Agreements

    • CSA / VMCSA

    • Brokerage Agreements

    • Master and Long-Form Agreements

  • Good understanding of regulations applicable to OTC derivatives (e.g., EMIR, Dodd-Frank, MAS requirements).

  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance risk and business needs.

  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

  • Able to work both independently and within a team in a fast-paced trading environment.

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and able to meet tight deadlines.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
