Introduction

Brunel is partnered with a rapidly growing global technology manufacturer specializing in advanced liquid cooling solutions for AI infrastructure, high-performance computing, enterprise servers, and data centres.

As demand for AI and cloud computing continues to accelerate, our client is expanding its engineering team to support the design and delivery of next-generation liquid cooling infrastructure.

What are you going to do

  • Create and maintain detailed 3D part and assembly models using SolidWorks and Autodesk Revit BIM.
  • Produce fabrication, assembly, installation, and manufacturing drawings.
  • Develop detailed mechanical designs for piping systems and components including valve trains, headers, spool assemblies, expansion tanks, support brackets, drip trays, and mounting hardware.
  • Develop piping and cable routing within complex 3D assemblies.
  • Ensure designs are manufacturable, serviceable, and aligned with established engineering requirements.
  • Support component and assembly standardization to improve design reuse.
  • Create and maintain accurate Bills of Material (BOMs) and piping/electrical component schedules.
  • Produce supporting documentation including P&IDs, piping routing drawings, interface details, packaging drawings, and installation drawings.
  • Apply drafting standards, GD&T, tolerance requirements, and company design practices.
  • Maintain accurate product configurations and released engineering documentation.
  • Process drawing and design revisions through ECR/ECN change-control processes.
  • Support manufacturing and production teams with drawing clarification, revision requests, and issue resolution.
  • Develop packaging designs and drawings for piping systems and mechanical assemblies.
  • Support installation and commissioning readiness by documenting mounting, bracketing, alignment, mechanical loading, connection interfaces, and site execution requirements.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and continuous improvement of mechanical designs and manufacturing processes.
  • Work closely with Mechanical Engineers and Technical Leads throughout the design and release process.
  • Translate engineering concepts, calculations, and system requirements into detailed, production-ready designs.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, project management, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Support multiple concurrent engineering projects while maintaining drawing quality, configuration accuracy, and project schedules.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design Technology, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant mechanical design experience.
  • Strong proficiency with SolidWorks and Autodesk Revit BIM.
  • Demonstrated experience creating detailed manufacturing and fabrication drawings.
  • Experience designing mechanical assemblies, piping systems, or industrial equipment.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, drafting standards, and engineering release processes.
  • Working knowledge of current AWS/ASME welding standards.
  • Experience creating and maintaining BOMs and engineering documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and time-management skills.
  • Experience designing industrial piping, fluid handling, HVAC, thermal management, or liquid cooling systems.
  • Experience with piping and cable routing in a 3D CAD environment.
  • Experience designing fabricated and welded mechanical assemblies.
  • Familiarity with rapid prototyping, manufacturing techniques, and mechanical/thermal component testing.
  • Experience working within formal ECR/ECN and configuration-management processes.
