Introduction

Our client is currently seeking a Drilling Field Supervisor to support ongoing projects within their WA Water Well operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in water well drilling and a proven track record of upholding strict safety and quality standards in a field-based leadership role.

About this role

  • Providing safety leadership and assisting team members with the development of thorough risk assessments, critical control verifications and job safety analysis.
  • Ensuring all operations are conducted in line with relevant legislation, standards, work practices and awards.
  • Provide ongoing coaching to develop your team; including addressing performance and conduct issues.
  • Coordinate and allocate work as required to meet drilling plans and run rates in the most cost effective/efficient way while meeting safety compliance requirements, including the co-ordination of relief team members as required.
  • Ensuring mechanical availability of assets through basic maintenance, reporting process, and effective prestart and preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Liaise with the Project Leader regarding the progress of the drilling program.
  • Conduct reviews of employee performance in line with overall organisational strategy and development.
  • Participate in drilling Contractor toolbox meetings and Geology safety meetings to ensure that all relevant successes and opportunities for improvement are effectively communicated, and that feedback from the Contractor is registered and actioned upon where necessary.
  • Lead investigations of all incidents / hazard management issues that occur in the work area and on shift and ensure effective corrective actions are identified, implemented and monitored in a timely and productive manner.

Is this you?

  • Must have Water Well experience
  • Extensive drilling experience at a Supervisory level (Essential)
  • Proven leadership experience (Essential)
  • Cert IV in Drilling Operations (Essential)
  • Can drive manual vehicles (Essential)
  • HR License (Essential)
  • Water Well License
  • Trainer and Assessor
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to provide an Australian National Police Clearance (within the last six months).
  • Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical, including a Drug and Alcohol Screen
