Introduction
- A Technician (Maintenance) is responsible for the upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of technical systems and equipment, particularly in industrial environments such as oil and gas, petrochemical, and telecom sectors.
- This role ensures that all systems operate efficiently and safely, minimizing downtime and supporting continuous operations.
About this role
- Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on PAGA (Public Address and General Alarm) systems and related field hardware.
- Troubleshoot and repair faults in electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
- Conduct inspections, testing, and calibration of equipment to ensure compliance with operational standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including service reports and equipment logs.
- Coordinate with engineers and supervisors to plan and execute maintenance schedules.
- Adhere to safety protocols and participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, and permit-to-work systems
Is this you?
- Diploma or Trade Certification in Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunication, Computer, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of PAGA systems and field hardware.
- Prior experience with QatarEnergy contracts or equivalent oil and gas projects (onshore and offshore) is highly preferred
- Familiarity with safety procedures, permit systems, and maintenance documentation.
- Hands-on experience with PAGA systems such as:
- Federal Signal
- VODEC
- Spectar Lumenex
- GAI-Tronics-Elemec
- Nuemann
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical and electronic faults.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
- Skilled in using diagnostic tools and maintenance software.
- Strong understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance strategies.
