Introduction

  • The job purpose is to lead and support SHES initiatives, ensuring a safe and healthy working environment.
  • This includes fostering a positive safety culture, managing risk, and ensuring compliance with SHES standards and providing expert safety, health, environment and security (SHES) advice and guidance.
  • The role also involves effective communication and promoting worker wellbeing and competency.
  • Massive size labor expected in RLC as projects are executed, reaching ~60,000 workers, which will require proper provisions for hygiene, food, welfare, safety, medical and recreational facilities
  • Very large offshore installation operations, which will require a large fleet of vessels (~100 vessels) and offshore labor, in addition to a close interface with other Marine and offshore operations (Subsurface, Operations, etc.)
  • Massive number of major projects executed concurrently each of which has unique challenges in terms of execution risks that include heavy lifts, hot works, offshore personnel transfers, dredging and tie ins in areas that have extensive brownfield components and stringent requirements
  • Requires frequent presence and visits to various project sites.

About this role

  • Act as the main contact for corporate HSEQ leadership and Human Performance matter, ensuring alignment and communication between corporate HSEQ sections.
  • Monitor and Improve HSE Performance through implementation of the SHES Strategic Framework.
  • Develop implementation plan, support governance execution, organize the different Strategy committees and reviews to monitor SHES strategy performance, and propose improvements based on performance indicators and assurance activities.
  • Consolidate and Report HSE performance on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis, including reporting to corporate HSE committees and major project safety meetings.
  • Plan and Execute Safety Culture Initiatives: to ensure a safe working environment and promote a positive safety culture within the organization.
  • Lead Safety Leadership Strategy and Governance by managing the Safety Strategy Steering Committee, monitoring KPIs, and ensuring alignment with corporate safety objectives.
  • Implement Tiered Leadership Training Programs and continuously improve structured Human Performance training programs for all leadership levels—including executives, managers, and supervisors—to build safety ownership, decision-making capability, and behavioral influence.
  • Oversee targeted training and coaching programs for supervisors, equipping them with the tools and skills to lead safety conversations, conduct interventions, and model safe behaviour on-site following Human Performance principles.
  • Lead the implementation and integration of the “Switch ON” and the human performance programs initiatives to promote situational awareness, personal accountability, and proactive safety engagement across all workforce levels.
  • Maintain strong interfaces with HSE, corporate HSE section, and other functional teams, ensuring integrated reporting and alignment of Leadership and Human Performance

Is this you?

  • Bachelors degree in sciences, safety, health, environment, security, or Engineering
  • 12 years experience in SHES in the Oil & Gas Industry, including 3 years of experience in a supervisory role, including acting roles, or oversight of service/vendor personnel.
  • Recent (within the last five years) experience of HSE management on major projects FEED and EPC phases
  • Experience with Oil & Gas companies, Contractors, or Service Companies.
  • Experience working in large scale operating organizations in Operations, Projects, Subsurface, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of relevant SHES management systems and programs.
  • A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Computer literacy involving the regular use of professional office applications and some technical applications
