Introduction

On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Senior Project Engineer in Perth to join a dynamic team delivering a major materials handling project. The role focuses on bridging design and execution, coordinating engineering teams, managing vendor performance, and overseeing mechanical packages from concept through construction

About this role

  • Provide input and guidance to the project design to align with the agreed scope and deliver the study or project's target objectives.
  • Review engineering and design deliverables for compliance with agreed specifications, guidelines, standards and project criteria on a project.
  • Develop overall project work packs including scope interfaces, packages, battery limits, schedule and costs.
  • Develop vendor and contractor contract and tender packages including technical data, scopes of work, specifications and contract schedules.
  • Contribute to the Safety in Design process and functional safety reviews for a project including HAZID, HAZOP, RAMCO, Constructability, technical design reviews and risk reviews.
  • Track and manage progress and key milestones for the associated the processing scope through study and project phases including interfaces with other scopes and project groups.

Is this you?

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Extensive experience in project engineering or package management in the mining, materials handling and/or heavy industry.
  • Experience in Project and/or Package Engineering on major projects is required.
  • Experience in design phases of a study or project including concept design, FEED, and detail design, and execution phases of a project including procurement, fabrication, construction and commissioning is required.
  • Experience in operations, or maintenance is a plus.
  • Experience in materials handling, dry processing, crushing and screening, conveying, stockyards and loadouts, water systems, pumping, and fixed plant maintenance facilities are highly regarded.
  • Strong teamwork, people skills, and working effectively in multi-disciplines environment and forming part of a project delivery team.
