Brunel are partnered with a leading mining company to deliver the best work opportunities for IT & Technical professionals in Australia. We are currently seeking an OT Network Engineer to join on a contract basis, supporting upcoming mining initiatives. This Adelaide-based role (open to Perth or Brisbane for the right candidate), with occasional site travel, is critical to delivering the OT network aspects of key projects.
The OT Network Engineer will be responsible for delivering the operational technology networking elements of mining projects. This includes working across the full project lifecycle, from design and planning through to implementation, commissioning, and handover.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement OT network solutions aligned with mining project requirements.
Configure and manage industrial switches and routers (Cisco, Hirschmann).
Support wireless networking solutions including Wi-Fi, point-to-point, and mesh systems.
Apply network security principles to ensure robust and secure OT environments.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure successful commissioning and smooth handover.
Provide technical input to design reviews and project documentation.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced network engineer with a proven track record in delivering operational technology (OT) solutions in mining or industrial environments. You will have strong technical knowledge of industrial networking, coupled with the ability to apply this expertise across the full project lifecycle
Requirements:
Strong background in industrial networking with exposure to mining or heavy industry
Practical experience with Cisco, Hirschmann, or similar network hardware
Familiarity with wireless networking solutions (Wi-Fi, point-to-point, mesh)
Understanding of core network security concepts
Experience contributing to project lifecycles, including design, commissioning and handover
Tertiary qualification in IT, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience

You will receive an industry leading daily rate throughout your contract, including regular meetings with Brunel to ensure all contract conditions are exceeding expectations.
Your initial contract will be for 12 months, with review to extend at the end of the initial period.
