About this role

As a Projects Safety & Environment Advisor, you'll lead HSSE efforts across upstream projects by providing on-site support, driving regulatory compliance, and fostering a proactive safety culture. Working closely with teams and contractors, you'll manage risks, support incident investigations, and promote continuous improvement. Your role will contribute directly to environmental goals and operational excellence.

  • Lead and promote a positive, accountable safety and environmental culture within the organization.
  • Build strong partnerships with internal teams and contractors to ensure compliance and performance.
  • Provide technical guidance and implement safety and environmental management systems, liaising with regulators.
  • Deliver HSSE coaching and interventions to enforce risk controls and drive continuous improvement.
  • Foster a learning culture embracing psychological safety and organizational performance principles.
  • Ensure on-site assurance of hazard management and compliance with local safety and environmental regulations.

Is this you?

  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to build stakeholder relationships and inspire positive change.
  • Commitment to Goal Zero and personal accountability.
  • Practical experience working with project construction teams to enhance safety and environmental culture.
  • Relevant degree or diploma in safety, environmental science, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of Queensland safety and environmental legislation, with experience applying related tools and techniques.
  • Experience in contractor safety management, risk assessments, training delivery, and incident investigation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, share honest insights, and drive simplification and continuous improvement.
  • A valid Australian manual driver's licence is essential for this role.
