About this role

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will join a highly efficient and experienced team of mechanical personnel across multiple ore processing plants. This hands on role involves maintaining and repairing critical equipment to ensure optimal plant performance. The key duties associated with this role are outlined below:

  • Conduct scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs on ore processing equipment, including conveyors, crushers, and screens, ensuring optimal performance and reliability
  • Manufacture, assemble, and repair metal structures and components related to ore processing operations
  • Operate and maintain conveyor systems, ensuring proper alignment, tensioning, and lubrication to minimise downtime and enhance efficiency
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults in ore processing equipment and conveyor systems, implementing effective solutions to reduce operational disruptions
  • Collaborate closely with the processing operations team, reporting issues and providing mechanical support to minimise downtime
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with both operational and maintenance teams to ensure timely and efficient resolution of mechanical issues
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, calibrations, and other maintenance activities
  • Actively participate in safety meetings and hazard assessments, adhering to safe work practices in a high-risk environment

Requirements:

  • Australian Mechanical Trade qualification or Skills Assessment
  • High Risk Work Licence - Dogging OR Rigging and Forklift
  • Current Working at Heights
  • Current Enter and Work in Confined Spaces
  • Valid Driver's Licence (C Class)
  • White Card
  • Full Australian Working Rights
  • Must have demonstrated fixed plant maintenance experience in Mining
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and zero harm
