Hands-on Supervisor who understands how to manage a warehouse and can provide the necessary oversight, guidance, and management to the construction contractor responsible for running the warehouse.
Essential Functions:
- Develop a basic material and equipment storage plan showing the location of warehouses, laydown yards, weather-protected storage areas, site fabrication facilities, and construction equipment storage and maintenance. This responsibility includes identifying the type of materials and equipment to be stored at each location.
- Ensure proper maintenance by the construction contractor of the Materials Controls computerized system - a data processing tool that assists users in the performance of day-to-day material operations.
- Supervise and assist the construction contractor in receiving, checking, storing, issuing, and maintaining records on all materials and equipment.
- Supervise the construction contractor in requisitioning, controlling, issuing, inventorying, and maintaining records on all small tools and expendable supplies.
- Supervising the construction contractor in preparing and distributing Overage, Shortage, and Damage Reports for all shipment discrepancies
- Supervising the construction contractor in ensuring preservation activities are undertaken in accordance with vendor recommendations.
