We are seeking a Network Engineer - Network Security & Architecture to provide strategic oversight, technical direction, and hands-on delivery of complex network solutions.

About this role

As a Network Engineer specializing in Network Security and Architecture, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and advancing Woodside's network infrastructure. Reporting to the Network Operations Lead, you will provide expert technical direction on network architecture, security strategy, and operational support for both offshore and remote sites.

Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing network strategies, managing technical project delivery, and ensuring network health and resilience. You will collaborate with stakeholders to align network design with business objectives, provide technical leadership on network security protocols, and conduct risk assessments to mitigate operational vulnerabilities.

In addition to managing complex project scopes, you will also act as a subject matter expert in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-implementation reviews, ensuring that network systems remain secure, reliable, and fit for purpose.

Is this you?

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in network security architecture and system integration, with specific experience in critical infrastructure projects within the oil and gas, mining, or resources sectors. Expertise in routing, switching, wireless, security, and voice systems is essential, along with a strong grasp of O&G safety-critical systems.

Candidates should demonstrate advanced problem-solving skills, the ability to manage multiple projects, and strong stakeholder engagement capabilities. A relevant qualification in network engineering, systems architecture, or a related discipline is required.

Experience working in offshore or remote environments and the ability to travel as required are critical. Industry Safety Induction (Safer Together) certification or recent O&G experience is essential to meet site entry requirements.

What we offer

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering network security architecture and operational support across Woodside's critical infrastructure projects. This is a full-time, 12-month contract position, with the potential for extension over a 3-year project timeline.

You will receive a competitive daily rate, comprehensive project support, and the opportunity to work on high-impact network projects across offshore and remote sites. Regular engagement with Brunel ensures that your contract conditions are met and that your project contributions are recognized.
