Introduction

About this role

  • Act as Instrumentation and Control Systems Engineer at the module construction site, serving as the focal point between the Engineering Office and Site Execution Team.
  • Collaborate with the construction team to ensure proper installation, calibration, & testing of instrumentation and control systems as per project standards and specifications
  • Liaise between the design office and site execution team to resolve technical challenges, leveraging deep knowledge of control systems and instrumentation to align on design interpretations and address inter-disciplinary issues.
  • Coordinate with control system vendors and engineering teams to integrate systems such as ICSS, ESD, PLC, and F&G into field installations.
  • Monitor pre-commissioning activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and support as and when required.
  • Prepare and track site instructions, engineering site queries, management of changes, and ensure timely resolution and proper documentation.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with design specifications and identify and resolve any potential issues.
  • Facilitate effective coordination among subcontractors, control system integrators, and commissioning teams for seamless project execution.
  • Provide expert guidance on troubleshooting and resolving instrumentation or control system issues that may arise during construction and pre-commissioning in consultations with respective vendors.

Skills and experience:

  • Advanced knowledge about Instrumentation, Fire and Gas, and Control Systems requirements.
  • A minimum of 15-20 years of experience in piping design, including floating production installations and site construction.
  • Understanding and experience in FEED, Proposals, Basic- and detailed design, and construction.
  • A problem-solving mentality, a proactive approach, and not afraid to take initiative.
  • Working in an international, dynamic, changing environment.
  • SPI and database experience is required as well as Navisworks skills. Aveva Marine/PDMS Design and Engineering experience are an advantage
